At Your Own Pace: There Is No Competition

So I had this post idea but then I didn’t make any notes, I simply wrote down the title. So here we are about to yap and ramble. First up: your only competition is you. You are working at beating your last accomplishment and doing better and gaining more experience.

Let’s chat a bit.

You Are Your Only Competition

Have you seen those posts on IG or TikTok where someone ask who are you doing this all for and the next picture in the slide is their younger self? Well this is what this post is all about.

You only have this one life. I encourage you (and myself) to live boldly.

Take those side quests and go after your daydreams. Whatever that might look like. And if you are venturing into a business head first with no backup or launching without a 9-5 as your funding or even without investments then yes, do your market research, have a business plan. Because whether you have a loan as your finance backing or you have investors, you need to ensure your long-term and even immediate success.

But for the rest of us, the ones who may be dipping our toes into the unknown, one our little side quests. Guess what? There is no competition. You are betting on yourself and you get to make mistakes and learn and grow from them.

Start where you are with what you have. And the quicker you launch, the quicker you will get feedback and the faster you will learn and get better and the closer you will be to success. So do it.

Do it for the younger you who had big dreams and bold ideas before the world and other people’s opinions made them seem to out of reach or too ambitious or too silly.
